Pittsburgh Criminal Defense Attorney Donates Thermometers to help Slow the Spread of Covid_19

Pittsburgh Criminal Defense Attorney Frank Walker of Frank Walker Law can be described as many things, “Scared”, is not one of those things.

Known for his straight talk and unwavering commitment to the communities he serves, Attorney Walker again saw a “touchy situation” requiring an outside voice and decided to step in.

As stated by Attorney Walker, “I have colleagues and friends working in the Allegheny County Courthouse and they are unfortunately unable to speak out about the issues and conditions facing them during this global pandemic due to fear of reprisal. I don’t have those concerns, and neither do many of my fellow defense attorneys.”

So when rumors started swirling about multiple positive tests for Covid-19 at the Allegheny County Courthouse, many members of the defense bar were concerned.

“We are not in the courthouse every single day, so we are not immediately aware of any positive tests until the news filters through the rumor mill. This is neither effective nor efficient. We need transparency, complete contact tracing and mandatory temperature checks at the Courthouse”, says Attorney Walker.

To assist with the temperature checks, Attorney Walker recently donated touch free thermometers for every entry point of the Courthouse in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19.

“This should be the standard for entry into the Courthouse. If Court administration won’t make the call, maybe it is incumbent on members of the Defense Bar to do what is right and ensure a safer courthouse for everyone.”
