Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (June 17, 2018) – For Immediate Release – Famed Criminal Defense Attorney and Philanthropist Frank C. Walker II of Frank Walker Law, again demonstrates the importance of giving back to the communities he serves. In this case, Attorney Walker is giving back to the small university in his hometown of Institute, West Virginia in support of one of the most famous Alum: retired NASA mathematician and fellow WVSU Alum Katherine Goble Johnson.

According to Attorney Walker, “The decision to support the Katherine Johnson scholarship was an easy decision . . . her amazing contributions to society all begin at my Alma Mater in my hometown of Institute, West Virginia . . . so I am just grateful for the ability to give back some of what this great Alumna and University has given to so many.”

On August 25, 2018, the day before Katherine Johnson’s 100th birthday, the NASA mathematician whose calculations helped astronauts return to Earth will be honored by her Alma Mater, West Virginia State University, when they unveil a life sized statute of Ms. Johnson on their campus of WVSU in Institute, West Virginia.

In addition to the the statute, which “will serve as a source of inspiration to current and future students of all that is possible through dedication, hard work and perseverance”, the HBCU is establishing a scholarship in Mr. Johnson’s name that “will benefit students majoring in STEM fields, with emphasis on assisting talented individuals who are underrepresented in those fields.”
